Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech - Atlas Mountains -Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley

will start early in the morning at 7h00 with a drive east of Marrakech past small suburban towns to the High Atlas Mountains. A few stops will be made to take photos, enjoy the scenery, stretch your legs and drink a cup of coffee. Drive uphill on curvy roads to the famous Tizi Ntichka pass before you reach Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the first major stop today for sighseeing. The Berber fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO listed landmark and is also known a set for major Hollywood epics, just to name a few movies that used the village for shooting: Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator. Cross the river separating the Kasbah from the main road and explore the village at leisure. Should you wish to hire a local guide, they are available onsite. After lunch at leisure at one of the local cafes, continue to to Dades valley driving past Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, Klaa Mgouna, the capital of the valley of the roses, and famous for its rose water artisanal distillation factories. Upon arrival at Boumalne Dades, Follow Dades River on a tiny road passing by different fortified Kasbahs located on the side of the road to Dades Canyons. You will arrive to your hotel late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your Dades hotel.

Day 2

Dades Valley -Tinghir - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga desert

After breakfast, we travel to the spectacular gorge Todra (the highest oasis in Morocco). The gorge is cut into the ochre-colored cliffs of the High Atlas. Its walls are 300 meters high and at their most narrow part are 20 meters apart, the area is absolutely beautiful, and the sky is so blue. There are some significant climbing areas geared towards beginners with good bolt and anchor placement with moderate grades. It is easy to find climbing in all grades. After lunch, you will make your way toward Tinjdad to see the underground canal system, which is called Khettara. It is an old irrigation system. We reach Merzouga, which is known for the highest dunes in North Africa. It is called the Erg Chebbi Sahara desert. On our way, we will have the chance to see many oases, such as the Oasis of Tinjdad. After we arrive at Rissani, we will continue our way, enjoying the green oasis of palm trees of Ziz –Tafilalet and the Hamada before arriving in Merzouga. There you will ride camels, a fantastic adventure in the sand dunes. We will spend the night in an equipped desert luxury camp in the middle of the Sahara dunes! This is a great opportunity to take lovely sunset and sunrise pictures. We will now explore the secrets of the Sahara and its unlimited horizons. Overnight in a Nomad Tent, dinner & breakfast

Day 3

Merzouga - Erriachidia - Midelt -Ifran - Fes

You will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, possibly the best moment of the Merzouga desert. Make your way after breakfast to Fes through the Ziz valley which has an amazing view of palm trees that is worths a stop for pictures. Then, we drive to the cedar forest of Azrou. There you will see a colony of monkeys along the road which will keep you amused. You will have plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs as you will stop for coffee, lunch, photographs, travel through forests, valleys, and mountains. We will reach the Switzerland of Morocco which is Ifrane city. It is considered to be the cleanest and the best city in Morocco. We will then drop you off at your Riad / Hotel at around 6 PM in Fes.
