Your Moroccan adventure begins in Casablanca, the country’s largest city and economic center. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the spectacular Hassan II Mosque, an architectural masterpiece built on a promontory over the Atlantic Ocean. Its towering minaret is the tallest in Africa, and its intricate tilework and oceanfront setting make it an unforgettable first impression of Morocco.
From Casablanca, travel north along the Atlantic coast to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Here, explore historical and cultural highlights including the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a stunning white structure housing the tombs of the late king and his sons. Visit the Hassan Tower, an incomplete 12th-century minaret, and stroll through the Kasbah of the Udayas, a fortress offering ocean views and narrow blue-and-white alleys.
In the late afternoon, continue inland to Fes, the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco. You’ll spend the night in a charming riad nestled inside the ancient medina.
Begin your day with a guided walking tour of Fes el-Bali, the world’s largest car-free urban area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This medieval city is a living museum, with its narrow alleys lined with artisan workshops, fragrant souks, and historic buildings.
You’ll visit the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, founded in 859, which is recognized as the oldest existing and continually operating educational institution in the world. Discover the beauty of the Bou Inania Madrasa, known for its intricate wood carvings and zellij tilework.
Watch traditional leather tanning at the Chouara Tannery, where colorful dye pits form a patchwork of earthy hues. You’ll also explore the Attarine Souk, known for spices, perfumes, and handmade goods.
After a full day of exploration, return to your riad to relax and enjoy dinner in the peaceful medina.
After breakfast, journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing green hills, forests, and charming towns. Your first stop is Ifrane, a picturesque town often compared to a Swiss alpine village due to its European-style architecture, tidy parks, and snowy winters.
Next, stop in Azrou, known for its cedar forests and wild Barbary macaques. Enjoy a short walk in nature before continuing through mountain passes and reaching Midelt, a quiet town surrounded by apple orchards, where you’ll have lunch.
As the landscape becomes more arid, enter the dramatic Ziz Valley, home to a lush oasis of palm trees stretching for miles along the riverbed. Admire the contrast between red cliffs and green palms as you drive toward the desert.
Arrive in Merzouga, a small village at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Settle into your traditional kasbah with views of the Erg Chebbi dunes, and enjoy a peaceful dinner.
Wake up to the soft light of the desert and prepare for a full day of adventure. Begin with a visit to Khamlia, a village inhabited by descendants of West African slaves. Enjoy a performance of Gnawa music, a spiritual style of music featuring drums, castanets, and rhythmic dancing.
Continue to explore the surrounding desert in a 4×4, visiting nomadic Berber families who live in traditional tents and follow a centuries-old way of life. Learn about their customs and enjoy a cup of mint tea with your hosts.
In the afternoon, meet your camel caravan and ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest in Morocco. As you travel across the golden sand, enjoy the silence of the desert and the surreal beauty of the shifting dunes.
Arrive at your desert luxury camp before sunset. Settle into your private tent, enjoy a freshly prepared Moroccan dinner, and gather around the fire for traditional music under the stars. The clear night sky in the Sahara offers one of the best stargazing experiences in the world.
Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then ride back by camel or 4×4 to your lodge for breakfast and a refreshing shower.
Depart for Rissani, the former capital of the Tafilalt region and a key trading post on ancient caravan routes. Visit the bustling local market, where people from nearby villages come to sell goods, spices, and livestock.
Continue toward the Todgha Gorges, a series of dramatic limestone canyons carved by the Todgha River. The narrow gorge, with walls rising up to 300 meters, is a paradise for hikers and climbers.
In the late afternoon, follow the Dades Valley, known for its red-rock formations, lush oases, and kasbahs. Along the way, you’ll see the striking rock formation known as “Monkey Fingers.” Spend the night in a charming guesthouse with views over the valley.
Travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing mud-brick fortresses and palm-filled oases. Stop in the Valley of Roses, especially colorful in spring, and continue toward Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara.
Visit the Atlas Studios, one of the world’s largest film studios, where movies like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and The Mummy were filmed.
Then explore Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning ksar made of red earth and straw. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a striking example of traditional Moroccan architecture and has been used as a filming location for Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia, and more.
After exploring the ksar, begin your drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. Arrive in Marrakech by evening and relax at your riad in the heart of the medina.
Discover the highlights of Marrakech, Morocco’s most captivating city. Visit the peaceful Majorelle Garden, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent, filled with exotic plants and bright blue buildings.
Explore the elegant Bahia Palace, a 19th-century masterpiece of Islamic and Moroccan architecture. Admire the Koutoubia Mosque, the city’s landmark minaret visible for miles.
Walk through the vibrant souks, filled with spices, lanterns, leather goods, and handmade crafts. End the day at Jemaa el-Fnaa, a buzzing square filled with street performers, food vendors, and musicians. The energy here is like nowhere else in the world.
Enjoy a day to explore Marrakech at your own pace. You may choose to relax at a traditional hammam (Moroccan spa), take a Moroccan cooking class, or visit local museums such as the Dar Si Said Museum or the Museum of Marrakech.
Stroll through the Menara Gardens, sip mint tea in a rooftop café, or find the perfect souvenirs to take home. Your guide can help you plan optional activities depending on your interests.
After breakfast, depart Marrakech and head back to Casablanca. Upon arrival, enjoy any remaining sights you didn’t see on Day 1, such as the Habous Quarter with its blend of French and Moroccan architecture, or relax at a seaside café on the Corniche.
After breakfast, transfer to Casablanca Mohammed V Airport for your return flight. Your 10-day journey through Morocco ends with a heart full of memories—from ancient medinas and desert stars to mountain passes and Berber villages
