Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Casablanca, where you will be picked up from your hotel or riad at 8:00 AM. As we drive along the modern highway connecting the two cities, you will enjoy views of the Moroccan countryside, dotted with small villages, fields, and palm groves. After approximately three hours, we arrive in Marrakech, the famous Red City of Morocco.
Upon arrival, the adventure begins with a guided exploration of Marrakech’s highlights. We start with the Menara Gardens, a peaceful site dating back to the 12th century, known for its reflecting pool and olive groves. Next, we head to the Koutoubia Mosque, the city’s most iconic landmark, with its elegant minaret rising high above the medina. From there, we enter the historic Medina of Marrakech, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with narrow alleyways, traditional markets, and artisan workshops.
The heart of the Medina is Jemaa El Fna Square, a place that truly comes alive with snake charmers, storytellers, musicians, and food vendors. This square is not only the cultural hub of Marrakech but also one of the most vibrant public spaces in the world. As the day comes to an end, you will check into your traditional riad or hotel, where you can relax and enjoy a Moroccan dinner, or spend the evening strolling through the city at your own pace.
After breakfast in your riad, the second day begins with visits to some of Marrakech’s most impressive historical monuments. You will step inside the Bahia Palace, an architectural masterpiece built in the 19th century, filled with intricate tile work, tranquil courtyards, and lush gardens. From there, continue to the Ben Youssef Madrasa, once the largest Islamic college in North Africa, where you can admire its detailed carvings and traditional Moroccan architecture. The tour then takes you to the El Badi Palace, once a lavish complex built by Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur, now standing as atmospheric ruins that tell the story of Marrakech’s glorious past.
The exploration continues through the Kasbah district, where you will pass by the Royal Palace and visit the centuries-old tanneries, where traditional leather-making techniques are still practiced today. Before leaving Marrakech, a stop at the stunning Majorelle Gardens offers a moment of peace and beauty. Designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent, the gardens are famous for their vibrant cobalt-blue buildings and exotic plants from around the world.
In the afternoon, after enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, we begin the return drive to Casablanca.
